Do anyone have any input on a single fin Skua 1200 and 1500. I am interested in knowing how it may affect handeling, speed, and stability. Dimensions of the tail would also be apprieciated. I mainly fly DS, so low speed handeling is not of concern. Jon

Hey Seeker. I built a single-fin Skua for DSing. It flies well. The fin is attached to the tip-end of a golf club shaft and sticks out about 200mm. Yaw stability in turbulence is noticably better than a standard twin-fin Skua. I wouldn't recommend trying a single fin unless you can get it further aft than the standard twin-fins.

The golf shaft has taken all the abuse I can dish out. I've crashed this particular Skua in every conceivable way and the golf shaft sticking out the back is about the only thing I've never damaged on it.

For frontside I think it's better to use the standard fins as the single fin out the back needs a bit more lead in the nose to balance.
